Medical Cannabis

The medical cannabis revolution is currently sweeping the world at rapid pace. The Hebrew University, led by Professor Raphael Mechoulam, however, has been uncovering the benefits of Cannabis and leading the modern era of serious scientific Cannabis research for over 5 decades.

Hebrew University’s Multidisciplinary Center for Cannabis Research (MCRR) is the world’s leading research and academic institution with the goal of elevating the use of cannabinoids for professional mainstream medical treatment and the ultimate enhancement of human health.

MCCR is leading a new era of Medical Cannabis research:

  • MCCR promotes translational scientific research projects as well as pre-clinical and clinical research at both national and international levels aimed at better understanding how cannabinoids are relevant to various diseases at the chemical, biological, agricultural and cellular levels.
  • MCCR trains young scientists and supports scholarships and/or awards to encourage M.Sc. and Ph.D. students to concentrate their research on cannabinoids.
  • MCCR arranges an annual symposium on cannabinoids that will bring together students and researchers from Israel and support an annual lecture by a distinguished guest scientist from abroad. Learn about the 2021 Symposium now!
  • MCCR fosters interactions with international pharmaceuticals to convert scientific achievements in the field of cannabis and cannabinoids into potential commercial value
  • MCRR cultivates interaction with other research centers, as well as with educational institutions abroad - promoting joint seminars and workshops.

Our Services

In line with the experience and objectives of the Multi-Disciplinary Center for Cannabis Research, we would like to offer medical professionals around the world a custom made frontal or online course that will explain the latest science behind medical cannabis and how to use medical cannabis for patient care.

The course will be prepared by HUJI researchers in MCCR and will be given in English. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate bearing the logo of the Multidisciplinary Center for Cannabis Research of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In addition, course materials, including the videos of the courses and all written materials will be provided electronically.
