Application :
- Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is widely used as a non-toxic white pigment, a catalyst support, and a photocatalyst. The pigment provides whiteness and opacity for paints and coatings, plastics, and paper. Much smaller amounts of titanium dioxide are used as additives in pharma and cosmetics as well as capacitors, semi-conductors and ceramic material.
- However, there are only two main synthetic approaches for efficient manufacturing of the material. This makes titanium dioxide production cumbersome and not environmentally friendly, with a high carbon footprint and limited to a small segment of manufactures (less than 20 worldwide).
Our innovation:
- Two new techniques for rapid results (in a matter of seconds), environmentally friendly and effective generation of TiO2.
- At the end of the process, the materials can be applied for a wide range of applications (as pigment, a catalyst support, photocatalyst, plastic and paper industry and additives in pharma, and cosmetics)
Advantages:
In comparison to existing methodologies based on the combination of superoxide radical or pure hydrogen peroxide (that allowed generation of TiO2 under NTP conditions from common industrial raw materials as ilmenite and TiCl4), our method allows TiO2manufacturing under moderate conditions:
- low electricity requirement
- low production price of the product
- can be applied as a batch or continuous process
- environmentally friendly and green, with a low carbon footprint
Opportunity:
We are seeking collaboration with a big player in the field of titanium dioxide production. The partner that will adopt our method will gain a significant advantage over the others.
