Contact

About

Background
Dita Bronicki, one of the first businesswomen and female entrepreneurs in Israel, is a pioneer in her field. Together with her husband, Yehuda Bronicki, they founded, managed, and led the Ormat Group and its global business for five decades. Together, Dita and Yehuda turned Ormat into a world leader in geothermal energy. They have implemented a unique leadership style that combines participatory and empowering management principles, setting a personal example, and fulfilling a vision to establish a leading export industry in Israel, focused on innovative technologies, unique business approaches, and continuous contributions to the community.

The ORT Ormat School highlights their outstanding community outreach, with more students than employees, in the founding year of 1970. After her retirement, Dita expanded her public activities in technological education (serving on various committees and public boards in the field), to promote Israeli industries, as well as dialog between Jews and Arabs in Israel.

While leading Ormat’s day-to-day management and its financial and business management Dita has been a role model for Ormat employees. Dita remains a paramount figure for women around the world since taking on senior management at a time when very few women held such roles.

Awards

Prof. Aharon Palmon

VP of Research and Development, Hebrew University

Prof. Aharon Palmon

VP of Research and Development, Hebrew University

Contact

About

Prof. Palmon was born in Israel and trained at the Hebrew University, where he received his DMD diploma in 1988. He then pursued graduate studies in cellular biology completing his Ph.D in 1991. Following a two-year postdoctoral appointment at the Weizmann Institute, he joined the Institute of Dental Sciences at the Hebrew university. Prof. Palmon is currently serving as the vice president for research and development at the Hebrew University.

Prof. Palmon developed technologies promoting the diagnostic value of Oral Fluids (OF) for both local and systemic diseases. OF as a diagnostic fluid has many advantages over serum. OF are easy to collect, store and ship and can be obtained at low cost in sufficient quantities for analysis. For patients, the non-invasive collecting techniques dramatically reduce anxiety and discomfort and simplify procurement of repeated samples for longitudinal monitoring over time.  His work was supported by various research agencies including the Israeli Science Foundation, United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation, German-Israel Science Foundation, Ministry of Sciences and Ministry of Health. Recently he founded a Hebrew University spin off company named Salignostics to translate this new knowledge to home use rapid diagnostic tests.
