Ayana was formed to leverage the benefits of the anticancer drug Doxil, an FDA-approved liposomal nanodrug that has been used in the treatment of ovarian cancer, metastatic breast cancer, AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma, and multiple myeloma. Co-founded by one of Doxil’s co-inventors, Professor Yechezkel Barenholz from the Hebrew University, the company is working to expand its treatment uses and efficacy while making it more readily available to address a range of conditions. Ayana has completed fundraising to support an abbreviated new drug application (ANDA), filing, and commercialization.

BacoCure is developing a novel bacterial product for local therapy (intravesicular) of patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. BacoCure’s lead product is a novel mutated and inactivated uropathogenic bacteria that has demonstrated impressive anti-tumor effects via a novel and differentiated mechanism of action with a better safety profile compared to Bacillus Calmette-Guerin. The product is at an advanced preclinical development stage.
